April 15 – I don’t think I got enough sleep last night, but for some reason, I’m currently feeling energized. I got up this morning and did some cleaning before getting out my weekly blog post on Geek Made Healthy. I then started looking at my calorie tracker and realized one of my formulas was off, and so I fixed that. It didn’t make a big change, but when I eventually release all my data, I want it to be right. I finished off the homemade Rice Krispies squares I made a couple of days ago and took the puppy out for a washroom break. I am going to make it my goal this week to drink more water. Ideally, two full litres a day and I’m going to track that on MyFitnessPal so I can be accountable. I have a wicked sore throat this afternoon, so I must be coming down with something as I haven’t been yelling or singing or anything lately.

April 16 – Woke up feeling rough this morning just before six. My throat feels like someone took red hot razor blades and scraped it up and then put some boiling hot lemon juice all over the scrapes. Suffice it to say, the only thing I want to eat today is Halls. In the end, I finished making the homemade beef kabobs that I had started yesterday because Annie really wanted them. They turned out amazing, but it was difficult getting them down.

April 17 – Still sick. Didn’t eat anything today. I drank a Vitamin Water, otherwise, it was all calorie-free iced tea and water. I really don’t feel well but all of the calories I’m banking are awesome. Gotta look on the bright side, right?

April 18 – Woke up this morning still feeling rough. Not much I can do other than continue to balance work and rest. I am hoping to eat today as my throat feels better. I weighed myself this morning and I was down by quite a bit. I am sure that will change though if I go through most of my calories today. I’ll try not to eat too much salty stuff. Ideally, it will still be a good weigh in.

April 19 – So I woke up early after going to bed late, so I feel a little more off than yesterday, but I think I’m on the mend with regards to my cold. I hope I’m not contagious as I’m supposed to have family time today and I don’t want anyone else to catch what I have. My weigh in went well and I am official down twenty-nine pounds since the start of the year. This means I’m down to the lowest weight I’ve been in a decade as the previous low weight I could find was 269 pounds and I’m currently 266 pounds. The hardest part is my self-perception, which still hasn’t changed. I still look at myself and see a 280-pound guy. Even when I was 315 pounds, I saw a 280-pound guy. I don’t know how long the latency is between self-image and reality, but I guess we will find out.

I can’t say that all of my loss this week was from hard work. Being sick meant not wanting to eat much. I think I had one of the highest calorie deficits this week than I ever have in a single week, but it is Easter weekend and I am sure I’ll go over on calories at least one day this weekend, if not two, but I’ve already decided that it is okay as that’s part of why I’ve been working so hard to have deficits, so that I can be a little more carefree during family holidays. So I have a feeling that next week I’ll be up a bit, but hopefully, and ideally, it stays below 270 pounds, as that would be a nice mental victory.

I still didn’t do much video this week, hence no video but I’ve ordered a new device to take videos so that I can continue the vlogging without having so many audio issues. Annie took a short video of me this week on her phone that I’ll include in my next vlog.
